U.S. News and World Report released its 2025 best high school rankings and Amherst Central High School was ranked #7 in the Buffalo NY Metro Area High Schools category. U.S. News reviewed public schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia for the 2025-2026 Best High Schools rankings, which includes rankings for nearly 18,000 public high schools
ACHS was ranked #168 in New York State; #1,764 in the nation; and #225 in STEM High Schools. View the Amherst Central High School profile.
Ranking indicators included college readiness, college curriculum breadth, state assessment performance and proficiency, underserved student population and graduation rate. The state assessment data used in the ranking indicators was sourced from the 2022-2023 school year's achievement results.
