Library
Welcome to the Library Information Center
We are a state-of-the-art electronic information center available to all staff and students to access a vast array of print and digital resources.
All staff and students may access eBooks and databases from home by using passwords the Information Center provides. Library skills reinforcement and development are an integral part of every student’s program of studies at Amherst. The librarian and classroom teachers plan closely together to design and support inter-disciplinary projects and research assignments. Presentations made in the classroom by teachers are enhanced with presentations in the Information Center by the Librarian. The final assessment of library skills is also integrated into the projects and papers students produce in the form of materials incorporated into their assignments, such as reference lists, quotes and bibliographies.
Library Rules
Students are expected to adhere to the rules when they are in the library. Failure to adhere to the rules could result in the loss of privileges for a period of time.
- Respect the library's materials.
- Respect the students and staff.
- Be productive.
- No food, drink, or candy. Water is ok.
" A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life.
